Science Roadshow

On Tuesday a Science Roadshow came to Otaki College to demonstrate some Science and show us what kinds of Science there is. First they explained how friction worked they had a hole slide show and did some tricks to do with friction like when they pulled the cloth off the table and the things on the table stayed on once they had finished that we got to walk around to different places that explained different kinds of Science.

My favourite one was the one were there was a seat and a wheel in front of you and there were two handles of each side you would start of spin the wheel and the move the handles from left to right and you and the chair would move because the wheel moved so fast that it pushed the air out of the way.

Then I went to the bed of nails and I was told to hold onto two bars on ether side and lie down slowly it was so nice. when my turn was over I went to this thing were you had to try fit small boxes into one big box I did not succeed.

We were told to come sit down again and there was a prize draw one of my friends got picked for the prize the got this little plastic propeller. Then last of all the made some Elephant toothpaste which was a mix of different chemicals.

Capital E

On Thursday most of the year 7&8 got on three separate buses and drove into
wellington to see three Capital E shows the first one my group saw was Story Studio
Live it was funny but it had come to my old school before so I had seen it.
They did two stories the first one was about a boy named Isaac and a cat/hawk that he
fond and then the second one was about a girl that turns into a vampire.

We had to walk to the second one which was at the Wellington Opera House it
was called wolf gang we walked for a little bit and talked when we got there we had
lunch and waited a few minutes that the curtains went up and there was a girl that
was having her birthday then all of a sudden the fridge opened and a man came out
the danced to some music and did all these cool things then he went back into the
fridge and she was all sad and then he came back out of the fridge but all he had
on was some undies and a vest he hoped one the bike and did all theses tricks and
go changed on the bike and then he lifted the lady onto the bike and she stood on his
shoulders the he rode back into the fridge and came back out and did more tricks.
He went back into the fridge she was happy.

We also walked to the last one and that one was a mime show it was called Gabez
they did 3 shows and the first one was about a window cleaner and the second one was
about a game which I did not really understand it then the third was a duck one.

I had so much fun it was awesome.

Athletics day

I jumped out of the van and said goodbye to my dad we were having a sports day at the Otaki domain. I opened the gate into the domain I saw the tents standing in the middle of the field and then Taipari came running up tome and said that we should go to our tents then as soon as she had said that then man on the wally talky thingy ma bob said people please can you get off the track because the first 500 m is about to start. Taipari and I walk to our tents Taipari is in Totara and i'm in Kauri and their tents were side by side so we sat together and talked about what races we were going to enter I was going to do the 500 m walk/run and so was Taipari I didn't want to do the shot put or discuss  but I wanted to do the high jump and long jump
